A little about Barry

I have over 30 year’s; technical, project and commercial service delivery experience from shop floor right up to board room appointments what's more; I’m consummate hands-on and hands-off professional and do exactly what I say on my label.


I offer fast track transition, strategic, operational business improvement and turnaround solutions across a wide range of manufacturing, service sector and public sector environments.


Traditionally my clients call me in to support their business when either they’re in choppy waters and/or trying to either change or extend their business portfolio.

What is your method of dealing with stress on a daily basis?

" Stress is a manifestation of endocrine insufficiency often an output stemming from a sense of personal lack of control, if we accept that we can't control anything at all in this world then we can make the very real real sort of life choices we need to make which simply eradicate stress from our life completely.

Failing that there's always a jog in the evening or Sky sports news, now what could be better than that?

Over and above this a large part of my assignment also included process modelling and mentoring several of the business key personal through an integrated personal professional development programme e.g. I supported the projects director in his transition towards taking up the role of physical asset management director etc.

Duties: I was invited by this businesses chief operating officer to help them recover a service delivery situation that had begun generate alarms with their clients, their business an M&E service provider within facilities management had recently acquired several additions to their business portfolio, unfortunately however their FM operations director had been taken seriously ill. My role was very much a hands-on, hearts and minds and stake holder facing role, where I stabilised service delivery across their entire portfolio and rationalised where necessary all superfluous processes etc, whilst ensuring that all key SLA’s and KPI’s where in the best possible position to be a achieved and contingencies put in place where there was a doubt.

Duties: I was brought in to help design, underwrite and rationalise all the procurement, build and commissioning capabilities for a major power plant facility and refinery rationalisation projects. This involved the proactive process modelling and analysis of all the associated build programmes; quality, supply chain, safety, risk, logistical and operational and commissioning execution rationales. I employed lean build and lean project techniques to the overall programme of works and was able to completely rationalise all associated procurement, build, quality, safety and control programme delivering my brief on time and on budget.
